A steam cleaner is an appliance that uses only a little water and a little electricity to sanitize, clean and deodorize virtually any surface – without using detergents.
Using only a small amount of clean, cold tap water, a steam cleaner creates low moisture vapour that carriers heat to the surface you wish to treat. The heat combined with light agitation does the work. In combination with a wide variety of accessories it can be used on an unlimited number of applications.
Steam is called ‘dry’ if it only contains around 5% to 6% water and is much less dense than the air we breathe. It is mess free with temperatures high enough to kill bacteria and germs, emulsify grease and oil as well as other surface contaminates. The result: a completely hygienic and dry surface.
Dry steam cleaning can be used on practically any surface with the exception of those surfaces that are extremely heat sensitive. Surfaces such as silks, leather, water based paints, some very thin plastics, and some types of velour upholstery must be treated with great care.
The water is put into a water tank and then pumped into the boiler that super heats the water and changes it into hot dry steam. The unique benefit of our steam cleaners is that they produce a low moisture, high temperature steam that carries only about 6% water. We like to call this Dry steam because so little water is left behind and so little is used.
In most cases you do not need detergents. With the MATRIX dry steam technology the highest results are maintained with almost every common cleaning activity. However, MATRIX acknowledges the fact that in some cases the cleaning process can be accelerated through the use of a detergent combined with steam. Therefore we offer a MATRIX range of machines that have detergent facility, and recommend that only approved detergents be used, advice should be taken from detergent suppliers and MATRIX Cleaning Systems. For chewing gum removal you will need a special detergent which can be supplied with your machine from MATRIX.
